— introduction at Journeyman Pictures
Jukka is a husband / father / filmmaker / writer / collector of Arctic rivers. He lives in Kuopio, Finland. Interested in making stuff, often with a camera, pen and paper, Jukka has been making films for over 15 years. He found manual lenses in his father's camera bag as a toddler. Looking through the iris, the way they shaped light. That sense of wonder never left.
His recent feature documentary Hatching Eagles was acquired for worldwide distribution by Journeyman Pictures (UK) and is streaming on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and Phoenix Television across Asia. His first book, a work of narrative nonfiction from the Arctic wilderness, is forthcoming.
